How to activate NXForms, receive updates, move a license to another website, and what happens when a subscription ends.

An NXForms license covers downloads, updates (including security fixes) and support. It never switches form features on or off: submissions, payments, integrations and every installed feature keep working whatever the license status. Pricing and the number of websites included are on the product page.

Activate your license

1. Open the administrator from the website's real address, the one your visitors use. NXForms registers the domain you are on.
2. Open Components → NXForms → License.
3. Paste your license key and click Activate.

The screen then shows the status, the subscription expiry date, and when the license was last checked. Your key is stored encrypted and is not shown again.

Activation also fills in the Download Key on NXForms's update site. You don't need to enter it in Joomla yourself.

• Refresh status asks the license server again, for example after you renew.
• Deactivate removes this installation's saved key and update credential. It does not free the website's slot on your license (see below).

Updates

Once the license is active, new NXForms versions appear in Joomla's normal update screen, System → Update → Extensions. Install them there like any other extension update.

If the License screen says the update site is missing, shared or has an unexpected address, open System → Update Sites and click Rebuild. If that does not fix it, reinstall the NXForms package, then return to the License screen.

How websites are counted

Your license includes a set number of websites, counted by domain:

• www.example.com and example.com count as one website.
• NXForms installations in different folders of the same domain share one website slot.
• Every other domain counts separately, including subdomains such as staging.example.com, and local addresses.

When all your slots are in use, activating another domain shows All licensed domains are in use. Free a slot first (below).

Staging, local and copied sites

NXForms works fully without activation, so you don't have to activate a local or staging copy. You only need the license on the website that should receive updates. This is the simplest way to keep your slots for live sites.

If you did activate a staging site and now want the license on your live site:

1. Sign in to My Licenses on nexusplugins.com.
2. Next to the staging domain, click Release. This frees one slot and stops updates for installations on that domain.
3. Activate the license on your live site.

Releasing domains is limited per license within 24 hours. If you reach the limit, try again later or contact support.

Copied or moved websites. If you open the administrator from a different address than the one the license was activated on, NXForms keeps the saved key and pauses license checks. Open the administrator from the original address to manage it there. To give the copy its own activation, tick I copied this website and want to activate it separately and click Activate. That uses another website slot. Deactivation is only possible from the address the license was activated on; otherwise manage the site in My Licenses.

When a subscription ends

• Your forms keep working. Submissions, payments, integrations and every installed feature continue to work.
• Updates, security fixes and support stop until you renew. If the License screen shows a grace period, updates remain available until the date it shows.
• After renewing, click Refresh status on the License screen.

If the license server cannot be reached, NXForms keeps the last verified status and your Download Key, and your forms are not affected. Try Refresh status later.
