Delivery estimates

NXCart can tell shoppers how long they have to order for the earliest dispatch, and when their order should arrive:

Order within 2 h 15 min to ship today Estimated delivery to Germany: Wed 30 Sep – Fri 2 Oct

It shows on product pages, under the cart and at checkout, where it follows the shipping method the shopper chooses.

Setting it up

  1. Go to NXCart → Settings → General → Delivery estimate and tick Show delivery estimates.
  2. Fill in:
    • Handling time: business days you need to get an order ready. 0 means it ships the day it is ordered.
    • Daily order cut-off: orders after this time count from the next business day.
    • Time zone of the cut-off: leave it on the site's time zone unless you ship from somewhere else.
    • Product pages estimate delivery to: the country product pages show the estimate for, usually where most of your customers are.
    • Days you do not ship: holidays, one date per line as year-month-day, for example 2026-12-25.
  3. Save.
  4. Go to Shipping and give each shipping method its Transit time: how many business days the carrier takes, fastest and slowest. A method without one shows no delivery date.

Business days are Monday to Friday, minus the days you do not ship.

How the dates are worked out

  • An order placed on a business day before the cut-off counts from today; otherwise from the next business day.
  • It ships after the handling time, and arrives after the method's transit time, both in business days.
  • Product pages use the fastest method that ships to the country you chose and takes the product's weight.
  • The cart and checkout use the longest handling time among the products in the cart, since the parcel leaves in one go.
  • Digital products have no delivery estimate.

The countdown updates by itself each minute, and moves the dates on when the cut-off passes.

A product that takes longer

In the product editor, Handling time on the General tab replaces the store's for that product, for example for items made to order. Leave it empty to use the store's.

Google

When you choose a country, product pages tell Google the shipping price and the handling and transit times in their structured data, which Google can show in search results.
