NexusConsent Pro — Changelog
Versioned notes for the Pro edition. For the standalone consent plugin, see the Free changelog.
[1.1.4] - 2026-10-02
Security
- Includes consent engine 1.9.0: Accept all now grants only the consent categories shown to the visitor. Previously, sites without Marketing services could send advertising consent to Google and Clarity. Returning visitors are asked to choose once more.
[1.1.3] - 2026-09-27
Security
- Includes consent engine 1.8.0: tracking scripts written with certain valid HTML, and inline setup scripts that referenced the consent settings, could previously run before a visitor consented. They are now held until consent.
Changed
- Each consent choice now sends a single update to Google Consent Mode and Microsoft Clarity instead of a duplicate.
[1.1.2] - 2026-09-13
Fixed
- Fixed some scripts and embeds failing to load after consent when their addresses contain multiple query parameters.
- Corrected consent-panel totals for shortened service lists and kept current-page-only lists free of notices about other pages.
[1.1.1] - 2026-09-13
Fixed
- The arrows next to "What this choice controls" and "Technical details" in the consent panel now show whether each section is open or closed.
[1.1.0] - 2026-09-13
Added
- The consent panel can now show what each choice actually controls. Expanding a category lists the services being held on that page, what they typically store on a visitor's device and for how long, and a link to each provider's privacy policy. Exact addresses sit under a second "Technical details" heading so the panel stays readable. Turn it on in Options; it is off until you do, and existing panels are unchanged.
- The block confirmation now shows the cookies a service is known to set before you commit to blocking it, so you can see what a category covers without leaving the screen.
[1.0.1] - 2026-09-09
Fixed
- With Smart Embeds turned on, a missing page could return a server error instead of your site's normal Page Not Found page.
[0.9.24] - 2026-09-08
Added
- German, French and Dutch translations throughout NexusConsent, including installation messages and scheduled-scan notifications. English remains available.
[0.9.2] - 2026-09-08
Fixed
- Scanning and applying consent rules work again after upgrading to the Setup Health database.
[0.9.1] - 2026-09-08
Fixed
- Opening a Setup Health finding or printable report no longer causes a server error.
[0.9.0] - 2026-09-07
Added
- Smart Embeds can replace blocked YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Spotify and other embedded frames with clear local placeholders. Visitors can load one frame without changing their saved consent or open the existing consent controls for that content category.
- Setup Health now checks whether enabled Smart Embeds have a compatible consent engine and an effective blocking rule, and explains where to correct the setup.
- Spotify is now recognized during site scans.
Changed
- The complete package now includes NexusConsent engine 1.7.0. Existing settings, rules and consent records are retained when an older included engine is updated.
[0.8.1] - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- Setup Health can now complete and save its first review on installed Joomla 5 and Joomla 6 sites.
[0.8.0] - 2026-09-07
Added
- Setup Health reviews discovery, blocking rules, consent controls, integrations and maintenance in one Joomla administrator screen. It explains what NexusConsent could verify, what still needs a browser check and where to fix each finding.
- Save browser confirmations, record a temporary ignore with a reason, mark a finding reviewed without changing consent rules, and print the latest review with its score and history.
Changed
- Completed scans and consent-rule changes refresh Setup Health automatically. If that review cannot be refreshed, the original action still succeeds and NexusConsent clearly marks the older result as stale.
- Scores state their evidence limits, keep browser checks separate and never turn partial scans or truncated data into a clean result.
[0.7.1] - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- The Schedule panel no longer reports a healthy multi-step scan as failed while Joomla is waiting to run its next page.
[0.7.0] - 2026-09-07
Added
- Scheduled scans now continue across short Joomla task runs until their page batch is complete, then save one clear change summary without changing consent rules automatically.
- Choose a Joomla administrator inbox notification, one email recipient, or local summaries only. Delivery is tracked per recipient, and an uncertain delivery is shown for deliberate retry rather than sent again automatically.
- The License screen shows the bundled service catalogue version and number of recognized services.
Changed
- Administrator messages now describe NexusConsent actions directly, and the supporting system plugin is named “NexusConsent - Licensing and Updates”.
- Service recognition is checked against maintained real-world examples and lookalikes before a package is built.
Fixed
- Scheduled scans no longer fail when Joomla supplies task settings as its standard task object.
- Concurrent task callbacks preserve current schedule settings, avoid competing scans and do not resend recipients whose notification already succeeded.
- Partial page coverage can no longer report a service as gone, and JavaScript provider names inside comments or quoted strings no longer create false service matches.
[0.6.1] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- Two scans compare whenever they checked the same pages.
[0.6.0] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- Scan site now knows your site's pages from Joomla itself, no sitemap needed, and picks pages across your menu, categories and articles. A manual scan can check up to 200 pages; a scheduled scan checks the next slice of your site each time and tells you when a service appears that your site had never recorded.
[0.5.5] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- Scan reports show what each service loads as with an icon and a word.
[0.5.4] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- The list of pages a service was found on opens in a small window instead of expanding inside the table.
[0.5.3] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- Tables have alternating row colors in both light and dark mode, and report rows are compact again.
[0.5.2] - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- Scan report text is the normal size again.
[0.5.1] - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- Scan reports list each inline script and site file once, with the pages it appears on, instead of repeating them for every page.
[0.5.0] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- Scan reports is now a normal list with search, filters and delete, and each report opens on its own screen leading with the services it found and what changed since last time.
[0.4.2] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- The Services list now has the same search, filter, sort and list-limit tools as every other Joomla list.
[0.4.1] - 2026-09-07
Fixed
- Scan reports no longer list files from your own site as external services.
[0.4.0] - 2026-09-07
Changed
- Services, History and Scan reports were redesigned so an administrator can see at a glance what the site loads, whether it is blocked until consent, and where it was found. Change a category in the row, select services and choose Block until consent; a short confirmation shows exactly what will change. History explains each change in one sentence and offers Undo on the newest one. Scan reports list services, not files.
Fixed
- Consent records export produced an empty file.
- Applying one service could drop a rule another configured service still needed.
- Scheduled scans never reported changes on sites with more pages than the scan limit or with a broken link. Comparisons now cover the same pages as the previous run.
- One-page scans never compared with the previous scan of that page.
- The scheduled scan needs the site address it was saved with; it no longer guesses it from the request that happened to trigger it.
- A PRO update now updates the included consent engine when the package carries a newer one.
Added
- Scan your public pages with one button, review suggested consent categories, and apply selected services together. Unknown external services have guided setup.
- Schedule weekly or monthly scans through Joomla and receive useful change notifications.
- Open banner settings, consent records and CSV export directly from PRO. View applied changes and undo the last change from the Services workspace.
- Identify inline scripts in scan reports through short, escaped excerpts with literal values removed. Routine Joomla assets no longer dominate the service list.
Changed
- Install PRO as one complete package, with existing consent settings and records preserved.
- Native Options, list search, pagination, status badges and alternating rows make the administrator workflow consistent with Joomla.
[0.3.1] - 2026-09-06
Changed for the administrator workflow
- The three screens look and work like the rest of the Joomla administrator: standard cards, tables and toolbar buttons, full width, in the light or dark color scheme you already use. Services is the first screen you land on, and Services, Scans and License are listed under NexusConsent PRO in the sidebar.
- Services works like the Articles list. Tick the services you want, then use the toolbar to set a category, mark them custom, or ignore them with a reason and an optional date. The License screen follows the same layout as NXP Easy Forms.
Fixed
- A new scan no longer overwrites a category you saved. Once you have classified a service, later scans leave that decision alone.
- Google Maps, Google Fonts, reCAPTCHA, Microsoft Ads, YouTube (no-cookie), Google Ads and Matomo are now recognized correctly. Maps was reported as Google Fonts before, and several of the others came up as unknown.
[0.3.0] - 2026-09-05
Added for the administrator workflow
- Scan one page and see the services on it. From Components → NexusConsent PRO → Scans, enter a page of your own site. PRO fetches it and lists the third-party services it found — by name, not as raw URLs — with how sure it is about each one. Anything it cannot recognise stays marked unknown until you decide; nothing is guessed.
- Review, then publish blocking rules into NexusConsent Free. The Services screen shows what a publish would change in Free's pattern fields before it writes anything: the services to add, their categories, and the exact lines. Publishing writes those rules into Free, which keeps enforcing them on its own — with or without PRO.
- Your own Free edits are never overwritten. If Free's rules were changed by hand since the last publish, PRO stops and shows the difference instead of publishing over it.
- Roll back, or remove PRO-managed rules. Every publish is recorded; you can return to the previous one, or remove only the rules PRO added and keep your manual ones.
- When the licence lapses, protection stays. Existing rules keep working, and rollback and removal remain available. Only new scans, new publications and updates stop until you renew.
- Your records survive uninstalling PRO. Scans, the service list and the publication history are kept in the database and recognised again when PRO is reinstalled.
Requirements
- NexusConsent Free 1.6.0 or newer.
[0.2.0] - 2026-09-05
Added for the administrator workflow
- Administrators can activate, refresh and deactivate the site licence from the License screen.
- Licence status now explains what remains available during a temporary service outage or lapse. Existing protection continues; renew to scan, publish changes, and receive updates.
- Licence credentials stay protected on the site, and ordinary visitor pages do not contact the licensing service.
This is an internal, unreleased checkpoint. PRO has no paid scan or publish features yet and is not a public or commercial release.
[0.1.0] - 2026-09-04
No public release yet.
