Save & Resume
Save & Resume lets visitors pause a long form and continue later from an emailed resume link. It is designed for applications, onboarding flows, intake forms, and other multi-step forms where one sitting is not always realistic.
What visitors get
- A Save and resume later button on the form.
- An email containing a one-click resume link.
- Restored field values, multi-step position, and conditional state when they return.
Configure it
- Open the form builder.
- Open Form Settings → Save & Resume.
- Enable the feature.
- Pick the form's email field that should receive the resume link.
- Set the link expiry, button label, email subject, and email intro text.
The form must contain at least one Email field before Save & Resume can be enabled.
Security behavior
- Resume links are tokenized credentials, so the link expiry should match the sensitivity of the form.
- After a visitor opens a valid resume link, the server validates it and redirects to a clean URL so the token does not remain in the address bar, browser history, or bookmarks.
- Submitted drafts are marked as completed so the same draft cannot be submitted twice.
- Expired drafts are cleaned up automatically.
Save & Resume is not a good fit for forms collecting financial, medical, legal, or identity data unless your retention and risk posture explicitly allow it.
Downgrade behavior
If Pro becomes inactive, saved Save & Resume settings stay stored, but the frontend button disappears and issued resume links stop working until Pro is active again.
